As the well-known dance anthem goes “Right here, right now”. Yesterday we arrived safe and sound after a long but pleasant trip from Burgos. Families and teachers were enthusiastically waiting for us in Logan airport. Long awaited hugs and kisses filled the arrival lounge before each could make their way to their new residence. Tonight the astonishing facilities of Newton North High School were home to the welcome party beautifully organized by both families and teachers. For the first time students were frantically exchanging their views about their first hand experience with New England families while enjoying the homemade food families had taken. Tomorrow we are expected to be welcome by the principal and the head of the World Languages Department followed by a guided tourthroughout the premises as well as the first oral exposition by the Spanish students. A hectic but promising and, hopefully inspiring, programme that will lead us to the cultural immersion that in all likelihood will improve their language skills and broaden their horizons for ever. As for the teachers, no complaints. The same red carpet treatment as students. MANY THANKS TO EVERYONE INVOLVED!

We are nearly done. After a big effort all the projects have been done. You can check them over in the section projects. Congrats to all of you! Once in Boston, the oral presentations of the projects will take place on the days we'll be staying in the high school. We hope they come off as well as the written part. Next week we'll hold a meeting with the students to inform them about the latest news. Hopefully, we can know by them our American partners. As an appetiser, watch this video about our destination. Enjoy!!! |
