Find attached the two documents with the final lists both of accepted candidates and the waiting list. Your English teacher will soon give you a letter with further instructions. A family meeting is likely to be held in the following days. CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL APPLICANTS!!!
After a laborious process, here we've got the provisional lists of the students who applied for the Newton exchange 2019/20. There are two lists: one with the selected applicants and another one with the waiting list. Ultimately there were 35 applications. We wished you could all go but there are only 24 posts. Should you see any mistake, please contact the English Department. The claim period goes from Monday 12th to Friday 16th. We'd like to thank all the candidates for taking part in the selection process.
It wasn't so long since we said goodbye to our Bostonians and yet we are ready to begin a new exchange. 38 applications have been received so far and 24, two more than previous years, the lucky ones who will have the chance of enjoying a life-changing experience.
With the only purpose of improving the selection process, the English Department has devised a questionnaire to determine one third of the final mark. The other two thirds will be equally divided between the mark in English and the average mark in last academic year respectively. Applicants must download the attached file, answer the questions in English and save it. Afterwards, they must email it to [email protected]. DO NOT FORGET TO WRITE YOUR NAME. The deadline is Wednesday, October 31st. We are looking forward to your questionnaires. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE. As the well-known dance anthem goes “Right here, right now”. Yesterday we arrived safe and sound after a long but pleasant trip from Burgos. Families and teachers were enthusiastically waiting for us in Logan airport. Long awaited hugs and kisses filled the arrival lounge before each could make their way to their new residence. Tonight the astonishing facilities of Newton North High School were home to the welcome party beautifully organized by both families and teachers. For the first time students were frantically exchanging their views about their first hand experience with New England families while enjoying the homemade food families had taken. Tomorrow we are expected to be welcome by the principal and the head of the World Languages Department followed by a guided tourthroughout the premises as well as the first oral exposition by the Spanish students. A hectic but promising and, hopefully inspiring, programme that will lead us to the cultural immersion that in all likelihood will improve their language skills and broaden their horizons for ever. As for the teachers, no complaints. The same red carpet treatment as students. MANY THANKS TO EVERYONE INVOLVED! We are nearly done. After a big effort all the projects have been done. You can check them over in the section projects. Congrats to all of you! Once in Boston, the oral presentations of the projects will take place on the days we'll be staying in the high school. We hope they come off as well as the written part. Next week we'll hold a meeting with the students to inform them about the latest news. Hopefully, we can know by them our American partners. As an appetiser, watch this video about our destination. Enjoy!!! Finally we've got it! The list of the chosen 22 students that will enjoy the privilege of such an amazing experience. We'd also like to congratulate every single candidate who applied back in October 2016. Don't lose heart! We know you'll have a similar chance sooner or later. official_list.pdf
The English Department has been working hard to make this possible together with the Modern Languages Department of Newton North High School. We'll try our best to carry so that the exchange will be a complete success. This edition we have added a twitter account so that you can follow us easily: twitter.com/NewtonExchange?lang=es The first part of the adventure will take place from October 28th to November 17th. As usual, we'll spend the las four days in New York. The new set of projects, as you can see, are ready to be researched. We've got all the ingredients. Let's make a good recipe! After some weeks, we are getting used to own routine again, but never forget what we lived. We will be waiting for all of you until February guys!
